Marie Clavaud
Marie Clavaud has over 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry as a geophysicist, project leader and manager. She received a MS in Exploration Geophysics from IFP School (1998). Marie started her career in 1998 at Engie in Paris (France), where she worked on their underground gas storage monitoring programs, as well as their exploration team mainly in the UK Southern gas basin and North Africa. She joined Ion-GX Technology in Houston in 2007 then ConocoPhillips in 2009, where she had had various roles, in quantitative seismic interpretation, velocity model technology, exploration bid rounds, drilling recommendations, and business development. Maitri is currently Principal Program Manager at Microsoft Energy Industry & Partner Sales, leading programs for Microsoft Cloud adoption by strategic customers in the Oil and Gas / Energy business.
Maitri is a co-founder and former Chair of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Women’s Network, which powers participation and leadership by women in applied geophysics worldwide, and currently serves as professional advisor to the SEG WN’s Global Student Communities. She also serves the SEG on its Honorary & Distinguished Lectures committee. Maitri was a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Foundation board of directors (2019-20), and First Vice President of the Geophysical Society of Houston (2017-19). Maitri is also an emeritus member of the University of Wisconsin Department of Geoscience Board of Visitors. Maitri's other interests include reading science fiction, writing, languages, and travel.
